The Bay Point Island Foundation
3rd Annual Art Auction
Call for Artists

Prospectus

The Bay Point Island is a 1,400 acre island on the Atlantic coast of South Carolina. It is the home to a variety of habitats including beach, dunes, pine forests, salt marshes and wetlands. These habitats support a diversity of flora and fauna including shorebirds, nesting sea turtles, horseshoe crabs, and dolphins. Dr. Jeanette Schnars, serves as the Executive Director of The Bay Point Island Foundation (TBPIF), a non-profit organization established in 2020. Dr. Schnars is continuing her leadership of science, research, and conservation on the island habitat at Bay Point Island. With the mission to foster conservation, conduct field research, promote eco-education, and advance best management practices, resulting in the preservation of Bay Point Island, the Foundation works to raise funds that support research and education along the Lowcountry of South Carolina. To support the mission, TBPIF staff work on scientific monitoring projects to conserve the island’s plants, shorebirds, pollinators, water quality, and more. To help highlight the beautiful flora and fauna found on Bay Point Island, TBIPF is hosting its 3rd Annual Art Auction at the Corakko Beach Club on Daufuskie Island. We are calling for Artists to participate in this fundraising event by contributing a piece of artwork that artistically showcases the beautiful Bay Point Island or the Lowcountry. Using a collection of photographs, we invite artists to interpret these visuals into a unique piece of artwork that TBPIF can feature in their Auction. We also welcome other pieces that exemplify the beauty of the Lowcountry.
